Our Visit to the Chelsea Flower Show: What We Saw, Loved, and Learnt

We’ve just returned from an unforgettable visit to The Chelsea Flower Show in London and we’re still buzzing with inspiration!

Hosted by the Royal Horticultural Society, this iconic event has taken place annually since 1913, and it’s considered one of the most prestigious flower shows in the world. It’s a mecca for green thumbs, floral artists, landscape designers, and plant lovers of all kinds. A place where passion for nature blooms at every turn and creativity spills out of every petal.

We were lucky enough not only to attend the show itself but also to experience Chelsea in Bloom. A spirited competition where retailers across Chelsea transform their storefronts into living works of floral art. Each store competes to be crowned winner of this spectacular display of imagination and craftsmanship (and yes, there are actual awards given out by a judging panel including a People’s Champion Award!)

Top Trends We Spotted

Pastel Power
Soft, dreamy hues dominated the show. Pastels were everywhere, creating gentle, romantic moods across installations.

Intricate Design Work
Nothing was done by halves. From grand archways to tiny flower-studded details, it was clear that craftsmanship and precision are the name of the game.

Sustainability as Standard
One of the most inspiring aspects? The show’s commitment to sustainability. Every display is designed with environmental consciousness in mind. Once the event wraps up, flowers and materials are either sold, donated, or reused. It's a powerful reminder that the floral industry, like all industries, must do its part to minimize waste.

Balance & Movement
One of the most difficult art forms to master in floristry is creating natural movement and balance in an arrangement. Chelsea Flower Show reminded us just how impactful and poetic this can be when done right.

What We Learnt

Quality Speaks Volumes
Being surrounded by award-winning gardens and best-in-class blooms gave us an even sharper eye for quality. It reinforced why we’re so committed to sourcing only the best from our growers. It’s this attention to quality that keeps our clients coming back, because they know we care about the finer details.

A World of Possibilities in Varieties & Colours
We saw flower varieties we didn’t even know existed.. in hues that challenged everything we thought we knew. From giant begonias to unexpected shapes in clematis, it was a feast for the senses.

What Took Our Breath Away

Show-stopping giant begonias in bold, bright palettes.
A clever twisted willow technique we can’t wait to try out ourselves.
Orchid varieties we’ve never seen before, exotic and stunning.
The best-smelling sweet peas we’ve ever come across.
A rich, vibrant South African display bursting with native flora.
The mesmerizing bowl arrangement, balanced like a sculpture.
A deep dive into peony varieties, and yes, they do fade and change as the days go on, often becoming even more beautiful as they do.
The tranquil Japanese garden peaceful, perfectly composed, and meditative.

Chelsea Flower Show left us inspired, educated, and reenergized. Whether you're in the flower industry or just a lover of beauty, this show is a reminder of how powerful plants and flowers can be.. not just aesthetically, but emotionally and sustainably.
